ABOUT US

Gljásteinn is a family-run company specialising in tourism. The family of Gljásteinn emphasises on a truly authentic atmosphere and personalised service. The wonderful facilities are situated in a unique environment and reasonably priced.

It is run by Vilborg Guðmundsdóttir along with her husband Loftur Jónasson and their family. Loftur was born and raised in Gljásteinn with his 16 siblings. Vilborg visited Gljásteinn as a child an fell in love with the nature and the domestic animals, and Loftur! Their two sons, Gústaf and Ólafur Bjarni, along with their daughter in law, Jónína Lóa and their grandchildren, share the work and help each other with all that is needed to run a family farm and tourist service.

Gljásteinn offers over nigth staying in Skálinn in Myrkholt, located between Gullfoss and Geysir.
